… yet the work of the architect cannot serve its own purpose, but has to follow the assignment of the project. In this case “form follows function” is a true statement. And in this context the method of realization is important for us. The desire for maximum cost savings can be a major problem in investment projects and as a result often clients won’t show up. But the opposite is true, too, when planners or architects try to employ as much extravagance as possible and not only the costs turn out to be unacceptable. The project shown above is an example for the usage of both extremes years ago, which led to the failure of the intended construction and it is now being handled by IFB. It seems as if the construction of beautiful, graceful buildings that still please years later is long forgotten. However, glass and steel don’t always fit everywhere.
